overview of current trends in the discipline of art history in Japan by proposing major debates on Jōmons, the question of the restoration of historical monuments, or on island museums and contemporary art triennials. In keeping with its editorial line, Perspective will open its pages to contributions covering the entire chronological spectrum, dealing with cosmologies and the representation of genres in the medieval period, as well as the construction of the historiography of the avant-gardes, through popular painting, the art market or the garden as an object of deconstruction of stereotypes of Japanese culture.
