Catherine ChauvinCatherine Chauvin is Senior Lecturer at Université de Lorraine (France), where she teaches linguistics, English grammar and phonetics, and linguistics-based translation analysis. Her research interests include the encoding of spatial relations across languages, English and contrastive linguistics, language representations and humour. She edited or co-edited books and special issues of journals including Sémantique des relations spatiales (special issue of Faits de Langues, 2013) and Linguistique et traductologie: les enjeux d'une relation complexe (2016, eds. Maryvonne Boisseau, Catherine Chauvin, Catherine Delesse, Yvon Keromnes, Artois Presses Université). She recently presented papers on the expression of spatial relations in language and published several articles on stand-up comedy, focusing more specifically on the use of accents and of cohesion-building devices in stand-up comedy shows.
